Brighton BiFest 2008 - Where and When?

Where?

Venue: Britannia Suite, Royal Albion Hotel, 35 Old Steine, Brighton, Sussex, BN1 1NT

We have a fantastic venue, right on the seafront and near the Palace Pier. The hotel has good access for people with mobility impairments and BiFest has ramps to make our part of the venue fully wheelchair-accessible.

Follow this link to our map, which has the venue marked along with Brighton Rail and Coach Stations.

Getting here

Train:

The nearest railway station is Brighton, which has excellent connections to London and the South East. Brighton is about 50 minutes from London Victoria on a fast train (at 06 & 36 past each hour), or a little over an hour from London Bridge. Visit the National Rail website to plan your journey times & ticket prices. We are currently not aware of any engineering work affecting the Brighton line on Saturday 9th February.

The hotel is about 15 minutes walk downhill from the station if you're a fast walker, or 25 minutes leisurely stroll. People with mobility impairments might prefer to catch a bus from outside the station or take a taxi.

The following buses from Brighton Station stop at Old Steine, North Street (stop C) or opposite the Sea Life Centre (stop K): 7, 14 and 14C, 27 and 27A, 37, 52 and 81A (evenings only).

The majority of buses from BiFest back to Brighton Station leave from Old Steine (stop U). These include the 7, 27 and 27A, 37 and 52 (daytimes only).
The 14 and 14C leave from Old Steine (stop U or G) during the daytime, but run exclusively from stop U after 7pm.
The 50A runs from Old Steine (stop G) back to Brighton Station at all times of day.
The 81A runs from Old Steine (stop Z) in evenings only.

Bus or Coach:

If you're travelling from the greater Brighton area then please use the Brighton & Hove Bus Times website to locate the appropriate route or routes and timetables. Please note that a one-way system operates in Brighton city centre. Many buses will stop in different places in each direction.

National Express and Megabus drop off at Brighton Coach Station, 11-12 Pool Valley. This is virtually next to the Royal Albion Hotel.

Car:

Parking in Brighton on a Saturday is expensive and difficult to find. However, some on-street parking does exist relatively near to the venue. Visit the Brighton & Hove City Council Parking site for more information. Disabled drivers who are Blue Badge holders should view Parking for people with disabilities.
